What is a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is a treatment program that includes a series of cosmetic procedures designed to address multiple issues. Smile makeovers can be as simple or extensive as the patient desires, and each makeover is carefully planned based on the patient’s specific needs and treatment objectives.

What are Tooth-Colored Fillings?

Tooth-colored fillings (also called white fillings) are restorations made of composite resins tinted to match the surrounding tooth material. When used to fill a cavity, tooth-colored fillings blend seamlessly with the surrounding tooth, which means the restoration will essentially be invisible and the patient’s beautiful smile will be maintained. The composite resins contain no mercury or other metals, and they form a very strong bond with the tooth surface, helping to prevent decay in the future. During application, the tooth-colored composite resin is “flowed” onto the tooth surface, then expertly shaped and hardened or cured with a special light.

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental or cosmetic bonding uses special materials that are applied to the surface of a damaged tooth and then expertly shaped to correct an array of cosmetic issues like chips and deep stains. The bonding material can be tinted to match the patient’s teeth so the restorations are undetectable. Bonding is less costly compared to dental veneers, but veneers are more durable than bonding, which means veneers tend to last longer and are less prone to damage.
